Traditional Chinese Medicine’s Five Tones Therapy for Diseases

The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon says, “All diseases arise from qi and stop at sound.”

“Five tone therapy is one of the top healing methods of ancient people: the palace sound enters the spleen, the commercial sound enters the lungs, the horn sound enters the liver, the characteristic sound enters the heart, and the feather sound enters the kidneys.”

Heart: A sign of withering style music mainly based on symbolic sounds, restless and enthusiastic like fire, with a lively rhythm, suitable for playing on the flute.

Kidney: Feather style music mainly composed of feather notes, desolate and flowing like water, with a pure style that matches the tone of the qin.

Spleen: A palace style music mainly composed of palace sounds, which is as rich and heavy as soil, with a melodious melody, and should be played with sheng.

Lung: A Shang style music piece mainly composed of Shang tones, with a tragic and resounding sound like gold, a high pitched melody, suitable for playing the guzheng.

Liver: A horn style music primarily composed of horn notes, round and clear like wood, with a friendly melody that can be accompanied by the sound of a flute.
